Echo Protocol Season: What's New

Gear up smart. Go tactical. Initiate Echo Protocol. Survive the op—if you can.

L-52. Most in the Pixel Universe haven’t even heard the name.

A few brilliant minds across different worlds once ran the numbers and came up with a wild theory: somewhere out there, time could be controlled. They never reached it, but the idea was too tempting to ignore. Eventually, a few military groups got involved. Funded off-books and buried deep in [CLASSIFIED] forest, they built an L-52 facility in [CLASSIFIED]—a zone where secret experiments were run to bend and sync timelines using satellites and signal relays. No oversight. No ethics. Just decades of unchecked research. And progress—scary progress.

Then, one day, it all stopped.

The barracks, the labs, the relays—they’re still there. Still powered. But the soldiers, scientists, and support crews are long gone. Only unfinished experiments remain—silent, dangerous, and waiting like crocodiles for anyone reckless enough to get close.

After breaking free of Mesmer’s control, Ramlisa used the Timeless Sands to open a portal. Now our heroes are here. L-52. The problem is, Eddie Mesmer got here first. And even the pixel gods don’t know what’s going on in that twisted head of his. Pixel Man, Daisy, and the Human Rebel have to track him down. Fast.

And Mesmer’s not the only thing waiting in this place. L-52 may be forgotten, but it’s still very much alive.

  • Captain Sower—possibly on an official military op. But no one knows for sure.
  • He’s armed with the Dustpiercer DMR—a fast, mobile sniper rifle enhanced with Target Mark and a bleeding effect. Efficient. Precise. Cold.
  • Ironside—once part of Sower’s squad. Scratch that—he is the squad. A soldier through and through, Ironside sees only targets. Anything in his path—irrelevant.

His weapon of choice: the VX-9 Linehold, a brutal, 3CatSpam-friendly grenade launcher backed by a damage-reflecting shield. Whatever Sower’s digging for in L-52, Ironside’s job is simple—make sure no one gets close.

If you think that’s it—think again. Mesmer didn’t waste time after arriving at L-52. Somehow, he managed to bring Perimeter-9 to his side.

If mercs, headhunters, and private armies had a boogeyman, they’d call it Perimeter-9. Officially labeled a squad of nine mercenaries—but they serve no flag, follow no orders, and chase a goal known only to themselves. Chaotic. Unpredictable. Absolutely merciless. Born and bred in L-52—if such concepts even apply to them.

They were the result of a canceled military experiment: Project P9 (Phantasm). The idea was direct—create a squad of supersoldiers, loyal as tools and deadly as a grenade with the pin pulled. They were meant for deep deployment across timelines, with orders to carry out operations no one else could even survive. As usual, the funding dried up. The experiment needed pharma experts; high command got stingy. You can guess the rest.

The nine subjects—written off, marked for liquidation—turned the tables. They vanished into the deep forest of [CLASSIFIED], dragging their experimental gear and tactical enhancements with them. Now they operate off the grid—unshackled, undirected, and armed with tech no one can trace. Whatever they were meant to be, they’ve become Perimeter-9 instead.

  • Callsign "Bratfox”—the most notorious in the unit. Handles diversion, demolition, and solo neutralization of superior enemy elements.
  • Shattermark—Bratfox’s personal sniper rifle. Built for brutal efficiency. Features X-ray optics and gadget suppression. Some say victims eliminated by this rifle detonate—but that’s just a story, right?
  • Silent Fang—a standard sidearm for Perimeter-9. Blinds targets, blocks jumps, and comes with an unsettling edge—Instant Reload. After five hits, the gun seems to reload itself. Nobody’s sure how.
  • Tricky Maple—shaped like a maple leaf. Functions like a cluster grenade—with a hint of target-seeking behavior.
  • Time Forester—the only face in L-52 you might consider a friend. If you're lucky. No one knows who's under the camouflage, but they've called this zone home for decades. At least. Stay on their side. Otherwise, Mesmer won’t be your biggest problem.
  • Root Piercer—a semi-auto carbine with piercing rounds, blind, and curse effects. High control, tight rhythm—only six shots per reload. Demands precision. Perfect for isolating targets and shutting them down, one cursed bullet at a time.
